Fiona Ferro turned pro in 2012. She has won two titles on the WTA Tour and four titles on the ITF Circuit thus far and is currently ranked World No. 259. She has won 238 matches and lost 206 with a win percentage of 53.6. The Frenchwoman reached a career-high WTA ranking of No. 39 on March 8, 2021.

In 2019, Ferro won her first WTA Tour singles title in Lausanne. She defeated compatriot and defending champion – Alize Cornet in the final. The other WTA Tour singles title she won was at the Palermo Open in 2020. She defeated Anett Kontaveit in the final of what was the first tournament since the tour had been shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 24-year-old recently played the qualifiers of the US Open but lost in the first round to Katie Boulter in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

Fiona Ferro files complaint against former coach Pierre Bouteyre

Fiona Ferro has filed a complaint against her ex-coach Pierre Bouteyre for rape and sexual assault. The alleged events had taken place between 2012 and 2015 in Saint-Raphael, in a tennis club.

Ferro was between 15 and 18 years old when the events allegedly took place. Bouteyre was charged on August 18. According to various reports, he has acknowledged “the reality of the facts, but denies the accusation of rape”, as revealed by his lawyer, Maitre Virginie Pin.

For the time being, the 50-year-old has been given a restraining order, according to which he will have to stay away from Ferro. Bouteyre will also not be able to coach minors for the time being.
