Many would know that the Serbian legend Novak Djokovic is taking care of the financial costs for Hamad Medjedovic’s career. In this article, we will know more about the 19-year-old tennis player from Belgrade, Serbia.

Hamad Medjedovic was born on 18 July 2003 in Novi Bazar, Serbia and Montenegro. He is coached by Ilija Bozoljac. The youngster played the Grand Slam tournaments at the junior level and his best result came in the 2020 French Open when he reached the third round.

On 25th July 2022, the Serbian reached his career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 259. His career-high ITF junior combined ranking was No. 9 and he achieved the feat on 4th January 2021.

His ATP main draw debut came at the 2021 Belgrade Open after receiving a wildcard for the singles and doubles main draws.

The talented youngster reached the final at the 2022 Platzman-Sauerland Open as a qualifier. He eliminated fourth-seed Marco Cecchinato and the top seed Nicolas Jarry in the campaign. In the final, he got the better of Zhizhen Zhang to register his first Challenger title victory.

Medjedovic trained with Novak Djokovic in Nole’s tennis academy. He said, “It means a lot to train with him because it gives you the confidence to see that you can put up with him to a certain extent. He came up to me, and hugged me before he left.”

The young man also revealed some tips that he received from the former world No. 1 ranked player:

“The training was incredible, and at the end, he told me something that I will always remember. He asked me to believe in myself no matter what happens. I am guided by that, I will always remember it and keep in mind that I must believe in myself.”
