WWE has a history of producing high-flyers over the years, and another one has joined the ranks in Humberto Carrillo.
The 24-year-old might not be the greatest on the microphone, but that isn’t a problem. He is extremely agile in the ring and has a unique move-set which makes him an incredible performer.
The Mexican comes from a long line of wrestlers and it comes as no surprise that he is following in the shoes of his other family members.
Carrillo has a bright future ahead of him, as long as WWE push him well, and here is all you need to know about him.
Carrillo started off his wrestling career with the Ultimo Ninja moniker while performing in Monterrey.
The 24-year-old teamed up with El Ninja Jr and participated in several Mexican promotions as his name grew in the business.
Carrillo won several titles too during his time in Mexico and also appeared on some US and Japanese promotions.
He got a break in 2018 when WWE signed him on a development contract. Carrillo did feature on NXT against Jaxson Ryker in 2018 September, but it was a losing effort.
Carrillo made sporadic appearances on several NXT shows and also got a chance to showcase his skills on 205 Live.
The 24-year-old lost most of these bouts but was signed onto the 205 Live roster. Carrillo impressed as a cruiserweight and in the 2019 WWE Draft, the Mexican was brought on to Raw.
He has feuded with Seth Rollins, AJ Styles and Andrade but his career has taken a family twist in recent weeks.
Angel Garza, his cousin, teamed up with Zelina Vega in the absence of Andrade. The cousins fought recently and it was Garza that came out on top in a great match.
Carrillo’s grandfather, Humberto Garza, and father, Humberto Garza Jr, were both luchadors.
Carrillo is a third-generation wrestler and many of his uncles and cousins are also in the wrestling business.
Angel Garza is another star in the making, and it will be interesting to see how their feud develops.
The pair haven’t seen eye to eye since Garza made his debut with Vega, and this should escalate in the weeks to come.
Although Carrillo has just started his WWE career, he has already set his personal life up.
The 24-year-old is married and proposed to his girlfriend Tania Ramirez on April 11 2019.
The pair tied the knot on 27 July 2019, however, not much has been said about his personal life in the WWE ring.
