Inside With Jen Psaki

As a former White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki has had a long and illustrious career in political communications. Now, she’s taking her expertise to the next level with a brand new show on MSNBC. The show, titled Inside With Jen Psaki, debuted on March 19, 2023, and will be available on MSNBC as well as the network’s Peacock streaming service.

The show’s challenge is to stand out in a crowded field of Sunday Beltway programs and find a unique take on the Trump story, as it airs after many other Sunday shows. Psaki’s show features interviews with guests such as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and New York Mayor Eric Adams, and leans on Psaki’s experience as a communications strategist. While the show was largely friendly territory for Democrats, Psaki did press Jeffries on whether Democrats would participate in House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s vow to investigate politically motivated prosecutions, and also questioned Whitmer on the lack of a ban on assault weapons in a state gun reform bill.

Psaki also drew on her own communications experience to discuss the ever-increasing use of the term “woke” by GOP presidential candidates and right-wing personalities, and gave her own insight into how the White House may respond to Trump’s potential arrest. The show promises to feature people “who are playing a role in making change happen,” with Psaki willing to disagree with some guests, as disagreement is a healthy part of democracy.
