Johnny Meadows, a former WWE and WCW wrestler, died recently after battling Covid-19

The Daily Times (h/t Metro) confirmed that former WWE and WCW wrestler Johnny Meadows died after battling Covid-19 for close to a month.

The 59-year-old, real name John Condrone, was on a ventilator since 28 September this year and died after complications from the virus.

Meadows started his career back in 1980 and even had battles against Ric Flair during his time in wrestling. The 59-year-old made appearances in several promotions such as the NWA, AWA and ECW and was also known as one-half of the tag team, the Paradise City Rockers.

Meadows was also known to be part of the Stingers in WCW. They were henchmen who protected Flair and the legendary Sting.

The former WCW star also made a few appearances in WWE/WWF as part of several tag teams.

Not just a wrestler

The 59-year-old made a name for himself outside the wrestling ring too. The report adds that Meadows was a Dove and a Grammy-nominated musician as well.

He had written hundreds of songs in his career and several of them still play on various media outlets.

The former wrestler had toured with the likes of Tranquility Express and the Roane State Boys too.

Animal was a pioneer for the tag team business and the Road Warriors are considered as one of the greatest teams ever.

There was more shocking news when former Cryme Tyme member Shad Gaspard passed away too. He was swept away in a beach but saved his family in the accident.
