Katie Lowes is an American actress born and raised in New York City. She graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in acting. Lowes started her acting career with the stage play Four Saints in Mexico, and in 2004, she landed her first screen role in the FX series Rescue Me. She later appeared in several TV series including The Sopranos, Without a Trace, NCIS, Castle, Leverage, and The Closer. In 2012, she got her breakout role as Quinn Perkins in the ABC political drama Scandal, created by Shonda Rhimes.
Apart from her acting career, Lowes is also a founder and director of the Los Angeles-based IAMA Theater Company, along with her husband, Adam Shapiro. She has also been involved in Southern California’s black box theatre community. In May 2021, CBS announced that Lowes would star in a sitcom called How We Roll, opposite Pete Holmes. However, the series was cancelled after one season in May 2022.
Lowes played Rachel DeLoache Williams in Shonda Rhimes’ Netflix miniseries, Inventing Anna, which was released in February 2022. Despite her successes, Lowes’ journey to fame was not easy.
