Who is Kris Statlander?

Kris Statlander is a female American professional wrestler who is the first graduate from the Create A Pro Wrestling Academy.

WWE star Curt Hawkins and WWE producer Pat Buck run the academy.

Statlander is known as ‘The Alien’ in the wrestling circuit and has faced some top stars during her time in the business.

Her Twitter and Instagram bios describe her as a “Stuntwoman” too and she highlights her roots from the Create A Pro Wrestling Academy.

The wrestler has performed for many independent promotions and has won several titles during her time in the business.

Statlander made her debut in 2017 and has been slowly working up the ranks in several circuits.

She held the WSU Spirit Championship, VPW Women’s title twice and also the NYWC Starlet Championship.

Statlander has also worked for ROH, SHIMMER and IMPACT and made an appearance on SmackDown too.

She was paired with Karissa Rivera and the team was dubbed as the Brooklyn Belles. Rivera had appeared on NXT too and they went on to face the IIconics for the Women’s tag team titles.

The pair unfortunately lost but Statlander has been in the news related to the WWE recently.

Has Kris Statlander joined WWE?

Reports from Squared Circle Sirens (h/t EWrestling) suggested that Statlander had signed a development contract with the WWE.

The report added that the independent star would join the WWE Performance Center in Orlando in the coming weeks.

Since she came through the ranks of the Create A Pro Wrestling Academy, it made sense that she could make the move to the WWE.

However, the story was quickly redacted (h/t LastWordonProWrestling) and it seems that Statlander isn’t part of the WWE yet.

Statlander is one of the rising stars from the indie circuit, and it will be interesting to see if she is to move to a bigger promotion soon.

NXT has seen several stars join from the indie circuit and move into the bigger Raw/SmackDown brands in the WWE.

There is also competition from AEW, with Cody Rhodes’ promotion making things tough for WWE.
