Ranked 82 in the world, Kwon Soon-woo is currently the top-ranked South Korean tennis player
Kwon Soon-woo is a 22-year-old South Korean male tennis player. He has represented South Korea in the Davis Cup and was first nominated to the side, back in 2017.
So far, he has not won any career titles. The youngster has reached the first round of all 3 Majors until now, except the French Open where he crashed out in the Qualifiers itself.
This season also, in the recently concluded Australian Open, he crashed out in the first round after losing to Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili.
However, Kwon Soon-woo has been making some waves recently at the Delray Beach Open where he has advanced into the quarterfinals. He reached that round after a Round of 16 win against American Ryan Harrison.
The 22-year-old will next face another American Reilly Opelka in the quarters on Friday, and it will be interesting to see if he makes it to the semis.
Soon-woo is yet to land a senior title in doubles or singles competition and his best performance in a Grand Slam is reaching the first round.
The South Korean has achieved that four times in his career, and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the rest of 2020.

Born on December 2, 1997, to parents Younghun (father) and Eunmi (mother), Soon-woo has two sisters – Hakyung and Sookyung.
Soon-woo was born in the small town of Sangju and picked up the racquet at the age of ten. At the age of 16, he moved to Seoul where he went to high school with fellow ATP player Duckhee Lee.

Kwon Soon-woo is currently ranked 82nd and is at the moment is the top-ranked male tennis player from South Korea. He achieved a career-high ranking of 81 in September last year.
