Lauren Boebert made headlines recently for her 18-year-old son Tyler’s relationship with a teenage girlfriend. As an influential Republican congresswoman known for her conservative political stance and gun rights advocacy, Boebert recently announced that Tyler will become a father at age 18. Tyler, son of Colorado politician Greg Hickerson, and his partner are expecting their baby daughter this April. According to sources, neither Tyler nor his girlfriend has broken any laws in their relationship.
Even with such an age disparity between her son and his girlfriend, the congressional rep has openly celebrated her imminent grandmotherhood. She applauded them for choosing life and accepting that raising a child was something they were willing to sacrifice for.
But the congresswoman failed to mention abortion is a constitutional right in her state, as well as the issues associated with underage pregnancies – according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, only 50-60% of teenage mothers finish high school by age 22.
The Boeberts have four other children between 10-18, including Tyler who is currently in high school, Brody at 16 (currently attending middle school) and Roman who is 10 (and an elementary school student).
As a congresswoman, Boebert often finds herself at the forefront of public scrutiny for her political activism and conservative viewpoint. Yet her role as mother and soon-to-be grandmother stands out as well: recently Boebert announced that Tyler, her eldest son, is expecting his child with his teenage girlfriend; thus making Boebert an instant grandmother at 36!

Boebert began dating Quinn Gallagher, an Aspen bar owner. They were later seen leaving a performance of “Beetlejuice” at Denver Center for Performing Arts reportedly vaping and recording during which they became intimate – leading them to be removed as security had concerns for them getting too close together during an evening performance.
Boebert has had various relationships in her lifetime. For 10 years she was married to Jayson Boebert before they separated due to “irreconcilable differences”. Jayson worked in oil and gas; together they owned Shooters Grill restaurant that featured an M16 burrito and bump stock corned beef hash as menu items; their relationship also often generated controversy regarding his sexual behavior.
Boebert is currently single, and Tyler made headlines this year by telling his mother about being pregnant, telling his girlfriend was pregnant, then informing his mother – Boebert laughed it off as part of family tradition and stated “it will happen!”
TMZ reported that Congresswoman Boebert was dating Quinn Gallagher prior to her son’s pregnancy announcement. Gallagher is a Democrat who co-owns a bar in Aspen, Colorado which hosts LGBTQ events – an ironic turn considering her strong opposition of such groups of people.
Boebert revealed to TMZ during her interview about her relationship with Gallagher that they had only gone on one date, which she described as being with an amazing individual with whom they “peacefully parted ways.” It remains unknown if Boebert plans to date anyone in the near future or whether she prefers keeping her personal life more discreet.
Boebert has become one of the more vocal members of Colorado Republican leadership in recent years, but her unfaltering commitment to family shows another side to her public persona. Tyler Boebert recently fathered a baby boy, becoming her grandchild at 36.
Boebert was recently asked by the conservative political talk show The Rubin Report whether her son’s conception challenged any of her beliefs; her response was that she wouldn’t “nitpick what the Bible says is right or wrong”.
According to The Denver Post, Boebert dropped out of high school at age 16 and married at 17. Her husband Jayson also has had run-ins with the law, including an incident in 2004 where he pleaded guilty to public indecency and lewd exposure after exposing himself at a bowling alley.
