Not only will the 26-year-old Polmans, be removed from the tournament due to his immediate disqualification, but he will also have to forfeit any prize money he may have earned. The ATP code of conduct explicitly prohibits hitting the ball in frustration, regardless of where it lands, as it can lead to disqualification. Polmans’ sudden exit left fans in disbelief, and many took to social media to express their reactions and thoughts on the matter.
