Naomi Osaka is a 25-year-old Japanese tennis player, who has 4 Grand Slam titles to her name already.
Osaka is also a former World No.1 and is the first Asian female tennis player to hold the top rankings in singles. She has 7 WTA titles to date and is the only player to hold two back-to-back Grand Slam titles since Jennifer Capriati in 2001.
Of late, her game has seen a sudden dip in form, she has also been plagued with mental health issues. However, her off-court life seems to be a little better as she has been dating rapper YBN Cordae
Who is Osaka dating?
Osaka, who in the past has been a private person, seems to be dating 24-year-old Cordae Amari Dunston, more popularly known as YBN Cordae. YBN is short for Young Boss N*igaaz, which is a global collective of rappers, record producers, social media personalities, and promoters.
Cordae achieved stardom after the release of the remixes of popular songs, such as “My Name Is” by Eminem, and “Old N*ggas”. He received even more acclaim when his debut studio album, “The Lost Boy” received a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards.
Where did Osaka and Cordae meet?
Osaka and Cordae first met during the Los Angeles Clippers game. Cordae, who is not much of a tennis enthusiast, had earlier mentioned that he did not recognize Osaka when they met initially.
The pair did not make their relationship public until Cordae was spotted in Osaka’s box cheering her during the 2019 US Open. However, Osaka’s arrival seemed to have brought some changes as the rapper seems to have finally learned to hit some balls.
When did the pair make their status public?
Osaka had been a rather private person until 2019 US Open, when Coardae was seen cheering for her in her second-round match with Polish player Magda Linette.
Also, she had posted a photo on her Instagram account alongside Cordae in the month of September. The couple was standing near the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, USA.
“Very grateful you’re in my life, always learning from you, always inspired by you. Also, always VERY entertained by you lol. Love ya kid,” Osaka posted.
The post, however, has been taken down due to reasons unknown and is no longer seen in her profile. Also a while ago, in a radio interview with Hot 97 FM’s Ebro Darden, Cordae confirmed that he’s dating the Japanese-Haitian tennis player.
On the 11th of January, 2023, Naomi Osaka announced that she was pregnant on Twitter. Taking to the social media platform, Osaka wrote: “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.”
