MSK debuted on Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic this week on WWE NXT
Fans were surprised to see a mystery team named ‘MSK’ listed in the bracket for the tag teams participating the 2021 WWE Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
And, they got to know the identity of the team-mates when MSK participated in the last of the 3 tag team matches scheduled for this week’s NXT. Turns out, MSK is a rebranded version of Rascalz, who earlier fought on Impact Wrestling.
MSK consists of Desmond Everheart Aiken and Zachary Green. During their time at Impact Wrestling, Dezmond was called Dezmond Xavier and Green was named Zachary Wentz.
As expected, the duo received a new name after signing for NXT. Dezmond is now Wes Lee while Green will fight under the moniker Nash Carter. And in another predictable move, WWE have trademarked the new monikers of these wrestlers.
Dezmond and Zachary Green were not the only two members of Rascalz. They actually consisted of one more member, Trey Miguel.
The trio left Impact Wrestling in November last year, with Dezmond and Zachary signing with WWE. As for Miguel, he is a free agent with rumoured interest from WWE.
The duo signed with WWE on 2nd December 2020 and reported to the WWE Performance Center. They had to wait more than 40 days to make their debut on the Gold Brand, but it was worth it.
MSK were impeccable in their first fight on WWE NXT this week
MSK were simply dominant in the first fight of their WWE careers. The duo faced Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott and Jake Atlas in the first round of the Dusty Rhodes Classic. As expected the debutants won.
The fight was well picked as both Atlas and Scott are athletic and agile themselves, and they matched MSK’s poise inside the ring by just the right amount. The fight featured some spectacular high-flying moves.
A back-flip splash, a diving suplex… you name it, and the fight had it. MSK look like the next big thing to come out of NXT, even though it is too early to say that. But they are young, talented, and have incredible chemistry inside the ring.
They even have the backing of the executive producer and founder of NXT, Triple H. After their fight, The Game tweeted to confirm the duo’s NXT status, saying “That’s the way to make a debut count. MSK is #WWENXT. #DustyClassic“
Winning the Dusty Rhodes Classic would surely be the best way for them to get their careers up and running. For that to happen, though, they would need to win their next match, which will be against the winner of Killian Dain/Drake Maverick vs. Curt Stallion/August Grey.
