Liverpool have started the season in a record-breaking fashion by winning six out of six games in the Premier League. The Reds enjoyed a successful transfer window over the summer and that has played a key role in their exemplary performances.
Jurgen Klopp has successfully increased both the quality and depth of the squad. But if Liverpool are to reach the pinnacle of English and European football, they need to invest smartly in upcoming transfer windows as well.
According to Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti (h/t Tuttomercato Web), Liverpool are keen on signing Spanish winger Dani Olmo.
Olmo is a 20-year-old winger who plays for Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb. Olmo started his career at Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy and represented Spain at the U15 and U16 levels. But in 2014, a lack of minutes forced him to move and he has played in the Croatian capital since then.
Moving to Dinamo Zagreb has been a successful one for the youngster as he finally received adequate game time at the senior level and deservedly so. Last season, he scored 9 goals and assisted 6 more to help his club win the Hrvatski Telekom Prva Liga. In the ongoing season, he has continued his fine form, scoring three and assisting two in 11 games across all competitions so far.
For now, Olmo plans to stay at Stadion Maksimir and continue his growth (h/t Tuttomercato Web). But his agent, in a recent interview (h/t Calciomercato) has hinted about interests from a lot of top clubs across Europe.
“I can confirm that Milan and other clubs are following Dani. There are several Italian clubs interested in him, as well as some in England and Spain.”
Hence, Liverpool must act fast if they truly fancy this exciting player. The Reds might have the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as their top attackers but to build a legacy, Klopp needs quality youngsters like Olmo to succeed further.
