Arne Maier scout report – All you need to know about this Arsenal and Man Utd target

From Leroy Sane and Mesut Ozil to Ilkay Gundagon and Antonio Rudiger, the Premier League is filled with highly talented German superstars. And a recent report from The Mirror has linked another German youngster, Arne Maier, with Manchester United and Arsenal.

Background

Arne Maier is a 19-year-old German midfielder who plays for Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin. He came through the ranks of Hertha and made his debut at the age of just 17, thus becoming the youngest debutant in the club’s history.

Maier is one of the brightest young prospects in German football and has already represented Die Mannschaft at the U21 level.

Last season, he started 14 games in the Bundesliga as Hertha Berlin finished 10th in the league. He made 528 passes with an accuracy of 84% which included 7 key passes and 1 assist. He doesn’t shy away from his defensive duties as he made 24 interceptions, successfully completed 23 tackles and racked up 15 clearances.

The youngster has a contract until 2022, meaning there is no possibility of a cheap move – any transfer would come with a huge price. It remains to be seen which club is willing to splash the cash but Maier would be an excellent investment.
