According to the Mice Times Asia, Mauricio Pochettino personally interested in signing Dynamo Kyiv wonderkid Viktor Tsygankov and Tottenham might offer up to €18 million to secure his services in January.
The 20-year-old has established himself as a regular starter for the Ukrainian giants this season after an impressive breakout season in the last campaign where he scored 13 goals in the league.
As the stocks continue to soar high for the Ukrainian winger, let us take a look at one of the most promising talents outside the top five leagues of Europe, Dynamo Kyiv’s Viktor Tsygankov.
Viktor Tsygankov was born in Nahariya, Israel and rose through the ranks of Dynamo Kyiv’s youth system. He made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League in 2016 and scored 5 goals in his debut season across all competitions.
He rose to prominence in the 2017-18 season where he scored as many as 17 goals across all competitions and has hit the ground running this season as well.
The 20-year-old has already scored 4 goals in the Ukrainian Premier League and another 2 in the UEFA Europa League including a man of the match performance against FC Astana.
He has also made his cut into Ukraine’s senior team and made a few substitute appearances in the UEFA Nations League.
Blessed with a magical left foot, Viktor Tsygankov is primarily a right-winger by trade who likes to use his pace and dribbling to beat the defenders in the wide areas. He is not just good at creating chances from the wide areas but is also equally adept at finishing them off. the 20-year-old has an extremely calm head on his shoulders for his tender years and shows good levels of composure in the final third.
Tysgankov has a sound technique which allows him to receive the ball with a minimal first-touch error. To add to that, he has the ability to keep good close control in the wide areas and waits for the right time to pick out the perfect pass. Furthermore, he is also very good with his link-up play and has a keen eye for a cross. In other words, he is a playmaker who likes to operate from the wide areas of the pitch.
He is very elegant with his touches around the penalty area and often beats the defenders with sudden bursts of pace or clever flick-ons. Tsygankov is also pretty good with his shooting and doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball.
