Travonsha Ferguson is a 24-year-old pregnant woman from Nashville. She and her newborn baby got in critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Centre after the seven months pregnant Ferguson was shot. Nashville police said that at 8 p.m. on April 12, Walgreens team leader Mitarius Boyd fatally shot Travonsha Ferguson, who was accused of shoplifting.
After Ferguson was shot numerous times, her baby had to be delivered by emergency cesarean section. Both mother and infant are in critical but stable condition, and reports indicate that the baby was unharmed. According to the police, a 21-year-old lady working at Walgreens was alerted by another worker that a 34-year-old guy and another woman were stealing from the store.
According to Eyewitness 3 News in Nashville, Boyd noticed the ladies loading a shopping cart and a substantial over-the-shoulder bag. After the ladies left the shop, he pulled out his phone and followed them to their vehicle.
After allegedly seeing the ladies putting the stolen goods in the trunk of their car, Boyd walked around the back of the vehicle to confront them. He said that one of the ladies sprayed him with mace from a can, which prompted him to bring out his revolver and begin firing at the other women. He stated that one of the women sprayed him with mace.
Boyd allegedly told the police he began firing because he was afraid and didn’t know whether the ladies were armed before he opened fire on them. After the shooting, the two ladies ran away from the scene, and Boyd walked back inside the shop to make the 911 call.

“The safety of our patients, customers, and team members is our top priority, and violence of any kind will not be tolerated at our stores,” Walgreens said to WSMV4. “We take this matter seriously and are cooperating with local authorities,” He added.
The lady who was with Ferguson brought her to the General Hospital in the city before leaving in her vehicle. According to WSMV-TV, Ferguson suffered numerous gunshot wounds and was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center in an ambulance. The phone and the rifle belonging to Boyd were reportedly taken into custody by the police. In addition to that, they said that he is helping investigators with their inquiries.
According to reports, Boyd was taken into custody in October for an alleged altercation at Best Buy in Nashville. After learning that the retailer did not have a PlayStation 5 in stock, he allegedly made a disturbance and refused to leave the store. He fought with many shop workers, including the store manager, and the police were summoned.
It was alleged that Boyd refused to leave the scene when the police came and got into a confrontation with the police officers. Boyd was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly behavior by the authorities.
When the investigation into Walgreens in Nashville is over. According to the detectives, they will turn over their findings to the district attorney’s office. Therefore, that they may decide whether or not Boyd will be charged with a crime. The identity of the other lady who was with Ferguson has not been made public by the Nashville Police Department.

A representative for the Nashville Officers Department told USA Today on Friday that Ferguson’s serious condition prevented officers from interviewing her. He added that her kid is “doing OK,” and she is on the road to recovery. Whether or not charges will be brought against Ferguson is likewise unknown.
The day after the incident, Walgreens released a statement in part. “The safety of our patients, customers, and team members is our top priority, and violence of any kind will not be tolerated at our stores. We take this matter seriously and are cooperating with local authorities.”
