Mike Mathetha is the fresh new face from the elite City Kickboxing Academy to make his debut in the UFC
City Kickboxing Academy has taken the UFC by storm and revolutionized the essential ‘feint’ game in MMA. Joining an elite group of fighters alongside middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is Mike Mathetha aka ‘Blood Diamond.’
Born in Zimbabwe and trained in New Zealand, Mathetha will be making his debut in the talent-stacked welterweight division against Jeremiah Wells. He has been racking up highlight-reel finishes in the kickboxing circuit and has a cold-blooded personality. The nickname suits him for his formidable demeanour.
Mathetha has won the King of the ring tournament twice, the same tournament CKB teammate Dan Hooker has also won. Mathetha has fought all over the world and had more than 100 kickboxing fights before moving to MMA. Even though he only has three fights in the MMA, Mathetha said he has been training for MMA for a long time.
Who is Blood Diamond’s opponent Jeremiah Wells?
Jeremiah Wells is an American mixed martial artist that turned pro in 2012.
He had a pro record of 8 wins, 2 losses and one draw before making his debut in the UFC. He made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 190, against Warlley Alves and won the fight by KO in the second round.
He is known for his explosive fighting style and possesses extreme power in his punches. Wells will be looking forward to spoiling Blood Diamond’s debut party and making a name for himself in the roaster.
