The user shared some clips of the actress, claiming her voice is pretty similar to the one that can be heard in the trailer. Previously, Perez appeared in TV shows like Law and Order and Jessica Jones, and also did some voice work for a minor character in GTA 5.
There are many theories about Lucia popping up in the last three weeks, including one that Lucia’s story may be told in reverse in the GTA 6 trailer.
According to some fans, instead of getting out of jail and then meeting her co-protagonist and falling in love, Lucia could have been with him from the start, and then she was arrested. This would explain why she appears with the ankle monitor in the game’s key art, but not in some parts of the trailer. One X user and GTA fan with the username @_Dyllie_ shared a comparison between the Manni L. Perez and the GTA 6 Lucia character from the game’s official trailer.
Apart from a strong facial resemblance, the report shared an interview clip in which the alleged actress denied any involvement in a voice-over role for the Grand Theft Auto series.
However, in a different interview, she claimed that she has been transitioning into voice-over and motion capture, stirring up the rumors of her being the voice actor of Lucia
Both Manni L. Perez and Ana Esposito are actors linked with starring as Lucia in the upcoming GTA 6 game.
Manni L. Perez is a New York-based actress who has previously lent her voice to GTA 5, specifically an NPC named “Clubber 2,” according to IMDb. She’s also worked in several popular TV series like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Marvel/Netflix’s Jessica Jones, and The Blacklist.
Perez also won the Imagen Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Esperanza Morales on Law & Order SVU. Some fans believe that Rockstar has a history of recruiting actors from Law & Order, as both Ned Luke and Steven Ogg, the voice actors for Michael and Trevor, respectively, have been on the show. However, this could be a mere coincidence as the show has had a long list of actors.
Ana Esposito is an emerging actor currently based in NYC. “Hi, I am Ana, nice to meet you! I was born and raised in Brazil, and 12 years ago I left my career in fashion to pursue acting in NYC. Fans believe the actress does have a striking resemblance to the voice heard in the GTA 6 trailer and also appears to have some similar physical features to that of Lucia. Moreover, there are plenty of reasons that add immense value to all the ongoing speculations around Ana Esposito being the voice behind Lucia.
Neither actress has confirmed to be involved in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto video game, and Rockstar Games has not shared any details either. Fans are requested to take every rumor with a pinch of salt until official information becomes available in 2024 or later. The game is scheduled to be released sometime in 2025 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles.
