Who plays Grover in Percy Jackson and The Olympians? Learn all there is to know about the cast of the Disney+ series.
Over a decade after the first attempt at adapting Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” Disney+ has taken a stab at the incredibly popular, Greek mythology-infused children’s series.
The first season of the show, which premiered December 19, adapts “The Lightning Thief,” the first “Percy Jackson” novel. It follows Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), a young demigod who learns that he’s the son of Poseidon, god of the sea, and is sent on a quest to retrieve his uncle Zeus’ master bolt. On the way, he’s accompanied by Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries), who’s a daughter of Athena, and Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri), who’s a satyr.
The well-received show serves as a redemption arc for the “Percy Jackson” series, given that 20th Century Fox’s 2010s films based on the books were a disappointment both for many fans and Riordan himself. Unlike the films, which featured aged-up versions of the characters, this series stars children — even though it made filming more difficult. “Everybody whose life was going to be more complicated because we were doing it this way understood, and committed to, and embraced at the beginning that this is just what the show is,” co-showrunner Jon Steinberg told Business Insider at New York Comic Con in October.
Meet the cast of Disney+’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” which includes young actors alongside industry giants like the late Lance Reddick and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
