Who is Mahmoud Hassan? The next big Egyptian talent?

Newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers are demonstrating no signs of slowing in terms of their transfer activities. Boss Nuno Espirito Santo must build his squad in the right way to perform well in the Premier League next season.

Wolves have been linked with Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio and Mexican forward Raul Jiminez but recently, they have switched their attention towards the Egyptian winger Mahmoud Hassan, also known as Trezeguet. The 23-year-old was quite impressive in the World Cup despite the fact that the African country lost all three of their group stage games.

Report on Mahmoud Hassan

The Egyptian scored 13 goals and provided 7 assists in 31 Turkish Super Lig appearances last season. These numbers, along with his performances at the World Cup, have elevated his status as a player.

The 23-year-old is a mercurial talent who can play across a variety of attacking positions. He was mainly deployed as a left-winger for Egypt in the World Cup and his lively display against Uruguay, in particular, was aesthetically delightful.

Quick with the ball at his feet, Trezeguet is known for his devilish dribbling skills. He is also smart enough to exploit spaces to torment the opposition defenders.

How will he fit at Wolves

Under Nuno’s guidance, Trezeguet should play as a left-winger in a flat 3-4-3 formation. His ability to track back and offer support to the defence will prove to be resourceful for the Wanderers.

The player is quite generous when it comes to setting up opportunities for his teammates. Although Wolves worked wonders in the Championship in the previous term, their work will be anything but easy in the top-flight. The level of the competition is absolutely incredible and they have a tough road ahead of them.

However, they have a good team but certain additions are needed. With a player as talented and skilled as Trezeguet, the Wanderers will be a force to reckon with. Santo’s priority must be to stay afloat in the Premier League next season and to that end, pursuing a deal for the talented Egyptian is a step in the right direction.
