AJ Styles and The Undertaker seem set to face-off at WrestleMania 36 and that might be a great move
The Undertaker has ruined AJ Styles in two PPVs and the leader of the OC is keen on facing the Deadman at WrestleMania 36.
Undertaker, surprisingly, didn’t feature at WrestleMania 35 and that could have been for a good reason.
Taker is 54 now and hasn’t been in the best of shapes for years. However, expecting him to partake in a wrestling match for over 10 minutes is asking too much from the Deadman.
The Deadman still has a large fan following and bringing him back for WrestleMania 36 should see a lot of the WWE faithful flocking for the PPV.
However, they have to find the right man to take on the legend. Brock Lesnar has already broken the streak and he has a big fight against Drew McIntyre.
The Fiend faces John Cena, which could be a cracker. However, The Fiend would have been an ideal opponent for the Deadman, given the characters involved.
Then there is the other main title fight between Roman Reigns and Goldberg, and that brings out a problem.
Reigns is great in the ring but going up against Goldberg won’t be a classic match. The Big Dog needed a better fight, and Goldberg isn’t in the right physical shape, as we saw at Super Showdown, to make a great fight at WrestleMania.
Of course, things could change, but it just doesn’t feel right. Styles vs Taker, however, could turn out to be great.
A great worker wanting to learn more
Styles was recently on WWE Backstage and explained he wanted to spar with Taker because he wanted to learn more.
That is a great statement from one of the best workers in the business. Taker, during the final years of him being at the top, wasn’t as dynamic as he used to be, however, he still put on good shows.
That is something that Styles wants to replicate too, and even with an ageing Taker, he should be the best option for this clash.
The leader of the OC is one of the best and most experienced wrestlers in WWE at the moment, and there aren’t many others who could make others look good in the ring.
Taker, for all his experience, still needs some help to look at his best, and there can be no one better than Styles for this clash.
WWE doesn’t need a Triple H or Shawn Michaels to return all the time for its big matches, but Taker still draws a crowd.
Super Showdown is one example of just how big he still is, despite his limited appearances.
Apart from the McIntyre vs Lesnar clash, not many matches set for WrestleMania 36 could get the crowd going.
However, getting another glimpse of Taker, in a decent match would bring a smile across most of the fans around the world.
