According to the Sun, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is very hopeful and confident that break-out teenage winger Bukayo Saka will sign a long-term deal for the club.
This comes after Arsenal agreed on a year-long extension with David Luiz and extended Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari’s stay for the long run. Also, the loan of Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid has been extended until the end of the current season.
Playing in his less-favoured left-back position due to Arsenal’s injury crisis, the winger has made a big impression at the club, putting up a great show and showing his tremendous talent.
Saka has proven to be a very bright prospect and has scored 3 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions so far this season. The player is currently contracted until the summer of 2021.
Saka has flourished at Arsenal this season and has been crucial going forward. Arsenal simply have to tie Saka to a new deal, no matter what it takes.
Arsenal cannot afford to lose Saka who has proven to be very vital for Arsenal, earlier as a left-winger under Unai Emery and later as a left-back. The 18-year-old has also been a constant threat in the final third and has great pace, something that can come in very handy for Mikel Arteta, both going forward and in defence.
Bukayo Saka has definitely improved and has shown a great level of maturity that belies his age. Saka has become a key component of Arsenal this season, and it is the right thing for Arsenal to quickly tie down the player who has great ability and a long footballing career ahead.
Saka still has much to work on but so far has shown that he can turn out to be an important member for Arsenal. The youngster is immensely talented and there’s no doubt about that.
The youngster had a blinder against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League by scoring a goal and 2 assists. He also provided an assist in the 1-1 league draw against Manchester United. He also scored and assisted in the 2-1 FA Cup 4th Round win vs Bournemouth.
These performances show that the teenager is capable of stepping up at crucial moments. Hence, keeping hold of such a talent is a no-brainer and the Gunners have to tie down Saka to a new deal soon.
