Why Arsenal should sign Myron Boadu to improve their attacking options

As per Voetbal4u (h/t Football.london), Arsenal are keeping tracking of Dutch teenager Myron Boadu ahead of the summer transfer window.

Boadu, 19, who came through AZ Alkmaar’s youth ranks, was promoted to the club’s senior team in the summer of 2017. Though he saw limited opportunities in his first two campaigns with the first-team, he has been a regular this term under Arne Slot.

With 14 goals and 8 assists in 24 league games this term, Boadu has established himself as one of the most exciting teenage forwards in the country. His impressive performances also earned him a call-up to the Netherlands squad last November, scoring on his debut. Thus, Arsenal should make a move for him in the summer.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have managed to regroup themselves since Mikel Arteta was appointed as the manager in December. After a disastrous start to the campaign, the Gunners have improved in the second half of the season.

They haven’t lost a single league game since the turn of the New Year and are hoping for European qualification. Though their defensive unit has not been up to the mark, the attacking unit, led by club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has fared better in recent times.

The Gabon international has netted 17 goals so far and has also received support from youngsters Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah. Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette is the only player who seems to be out of form as he has found the back of the net only on two occasions in the last 10 league games. However, the manager should look to strengthen the attacking unit for the future.

Boadu has been at his best so far, scoring 20 goals across all competitions, which is an impressive feat for a 19-year-old in the Dutch top-flight. He would definitely add depth to Arteta’s squad and would bring healthy competition within the team.

The Netherlands international has a huge future ahead and could be seen as a long-term prospect for the Gunners. He has netted 23 goals in 50 games for Alkmaar’s senior side and would be a valuable addition to the squad if he is able to continue with the same form and develop into a Premier League material.

Verdict

Given that Boadu is young and talented, he would be a good addition to the squad. Therefore, the Gunners must make no mistake in their attempt to lure the Dutch forward to the Emirates in the summer.
