The Independent have reported that Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal want to sign midfielder Dani Ceballos permanently from Real Madrid. Dani Ceballos is currently on loan at the Emirates Stadium and has shown his quality, especially since the restart.
The player assisted twice in his very first game at the Emirates Stadium and has shown his creativity. He showed his magical touches when he scored against Sheffield United in the FA Cup victory.
Arsenal have shown quality in their attack but have lacked a creative player especially since Ozil has been frozen out. In the absence of Ozil, Ceballos has proved to be someone who can work around the ball and create chances for them.
The Spaniard has become a more regular player under Unai Emery especially since Matteo Guendouzi has been axed.
Though there isn’t anything substantial yet regarding the Spaniard’s stay, The playmaker has earned himself a place in the side and in the process, has impressed the fans with his creativity. Ceballos has definitely been a great addition to Arsenal’s midfield.
While the player’s numbers might not seem really attractive, it is important to acknowledge the fact that Ceballos has so far repaid the trust by showing his performances and involvement in the side.
With Ozil out, the onus has been on Ceballos to spark that creativity and he has been doing that, creating the play in the midfield. The playmaker’s show early in the season also got him a call-up for the Spanish national side.
The Gunners need someone with great hunger and equal technical abilities. In his time on loan, the Read Madrid ace has shown that.
Arsenal making a move to secure a permanent deal for Dani Ceballos would be a step in the right direction as manager Mikel Arteta looks to rebuild his squad. Ceballos is only 23 and still has plenty of room for improvement in the years to come.
Ceballos has already established himself as an important part of Mikel Arteta’s plan and style of play. Hence, it would be the right choice to consider him in a permanent deal. The Spaniard too seems surplus to Real Madrid’s midfield at the moment and the player could boost his career at the Emirates rather than warm the benches back in Spain.
