Why Bournemouth signing Jack Wilshere would be a smart coup
According to Daily Mail, Bournemouth have started talks with Jack Wilshere over a short-term deal until the end of the season. The former Arsenal star was training with Bournemouth after being let go by West Ham this season. Manager Jason Tindall has been impressed with Wilshere in training and the club are likely to start formal talks over a short-term deal.
Bournemouth could use another creative midfielder
Bournemouth are currently flying high in the Championship following an impressive start to life back in the second-tier. With a hectic schedule set to follow, Jason Tindall should have one eye on reinforcements this month as the race for automatic promotion promises to go down to the wire.
The south coast outfit haven’t been short of goals in the Championship but can certainly do with some fresh additions. Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld hasn’t played since the end of November due to a hamstring problem while Dan Gosling and Junior Stanislas are both out of contract at the end of the season.
Atletico Madrid loanee Rodrigo Riquelme has been a peripheral figure in the set-up while the future of David Brooks continues to be the subject of speculation. With a departure for Joshua King looking likely, the Cherries should be on the lookout for opportunities to freshen up their squad.
Wilshere can be worth a gamble
It’s hard to believe that Jack Wilshere is without a club at the age of 29. Once touted to be the future of English football, it has been a steep fall for the former Arsenal man. People can’t really blame him as repeated injuries have taken a toll on him and he has never been the same since.
While Wilshere may not be able to strut around his stuff like old times, he still remains a decent player with bags of Premier League and Champions League experience. Bournemouth could use a player like Wilshere, even if it’s on a short-term basis.

The addition of Wilshere would give them another option in that area. Wilshere was known for his intricate dribbling and quick passing. He can be used as a sporadic option, given his injury history.
Plus, Wilshere already has the experience playing for the Cherries, which would help him gel with the squad. All things considered, signing Wilshere on a short-term deal doesn’t look too shabby an option for Bournemouth.
