Why Danny Rose would be a terrific signing for a struggling West Brom
According to TalkSPORT (h/t Birmingham Live), West Brom have shown interest in bringing Danny Rose to the club. The left-back has been frozen out at Spurs and could be released from his contract this month.
That means West Brom could snap him up on a free transfer to bolster their side. The Baggies have already added Robert Snodgrass and Andy Lonergan during this window.
West Brom could use a Premier League experienced defender
West Brom could use a Premier League experienced defender at this stage of the season. They have the worst defensive record in the league this season, conceding 39 goals in 17 games.
It is clear that the current defensive stocks, consisting of Kieran Gibbs and Connor Townsend at left-back are in need of reinforcements. Adding Danny Rose could go a long way in easing those defensive issues for the Baggies.
Danny Rose on a free transfer can be a handy move
Danny Rose comes with bags of experience in the Premier League and was one of the best attacking full-backs during his prime. Adept at attacking, Rose is also a capable defender who can stick to his primary duties of defending. At just 30, Rose still has a lot to offer. A move to another Premier League side could be just what he needs at this point.
The veteran left-back boasts of an impressive tally of 10 goals and 29 assists in 214 appearances (source – Transfermarkt) for Tottenham in all competitions. But his time at the club could well be drawing to a close, with Mourinho apparently unwilling to rely on his ageing legs. A full international for England, Rose has featured 29 times for the national side.

The Baggies could use a player of Rose’s experience. He will surely be a good addition to the side provided he is released from Tottenham this month and can be signed on a free transfer.
Rose may not be able to solve West Brom’s defensive issues entirely but signing him would be a step in the right direction. He would also represent an upgrade on their existing options of Gibbs and Townsend.
