Why Emil Bohinen would be a good addition to Leeds United’s squad
According to Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United are monitoring Emil Bohinen, who plies his trade with Stabaek Fotball in Norway.
Bohinen, 20, came through ranks of Stabaek Fotball’s youth system and was promoted to the club’s first team in 2015. He made his professional debut only in 2017 when he came on as a late substitute against Sarpsborg.
However, he featured in only 11 league games in the following season due to the presence of other senior players in the squad. But in the 2019 campaign, which concluded last month, Bohinen featured regularly under Jan Jonsson and helped the club finish in the 8the position.
He has improved a lot this season and is one of the country’s finest young talents alongside Erling Haaland, Martin Odegaard and Sander Berge.
Meanwhile, Marcelo Bielsa’s men are desperately in the chase for automatic promotion but regardless of their league status, they should bring in reinforcements to the squad.
They have a set of brilliant members in the attacking unit but the same cannot be said of the midfield and defensive depth. Adam Forshaw, Mateusz Klich, Jamie Shackleton and Mateusz Bogusz are the only attack-minded midfielders available at the manager’s disposal.
In that, only Klich has performed regularly in the campaign. Forshaw and Shackleton have played in bit-part roles whereas, Bogusz hasn’t started in a single league game. And the manager should look to add competition within his squad.
In that case, Norway’s Emil Bohinen would be a good choice as he fits the bill perfectly.
The 20-year-old finished the 2019 season in a spectacular for, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists in 31 games across all competitions. He has been a valuable member of the squad and he possesses a different quality.
Bohinen has also represented Norway at various levels from U16 to U21 age groups and has the potential to succeed at a higher level. He has been impressive and Premier League side Sheffield United have also shown interest in him, as per the report.

Verdict
With just four central midfielders in their ranks, Bielsa should make sure that they have enough quality and numbers to compete at a higher level in the next season. And to do this, the Whites must bring in young and energetic players.
Therefore, they must make a move for Bohinen and lure him to Elland Road in the summer.
