Why Everton offloading Yannick Bolasie is the right decision
According to Liverpool Echo, Everton forward Yannick Bolasie, who just returned from a loan spell with Sporting Lisbon, has expressed his desire to play for the club and impress under Carlo Ancelotti.
Bolasie, 30, played for several English clubs including Bristol City and Crystal Palace before joining Everton in the summer of 2016. After failing to meet the expectations he was on the move again to several clubs on different loan spells and landed at Sporting Lisbon last summer.
However, he has failed to establish himself wherever he has been despite making over 350 career appearances. His form in the last two seasons has also deteriorated and thus, Everton should look to offload the winger at the earliest.
Bolasie seems surplus to Everton’s requirements
The Toffees, meanwhile, have done a decent job since the restart of the season. They have lost just two of their last 7 league games and are currently in the 11th position in the standings.
Everton’s attacking unit has shown some consistency with the likes of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin performing at their best. In 33 league games so far, the Brazilian has contributed with 12 goals and 3 assists, Calvert-Lewin has racked up 13 goals and 1 assist so far.
Apart from Richarlison, the Toffees have Alex Iwobi and Bernard to cover the left side of the frontline. Though both of them have not been at their best, they are capable of doing well and the manager needs to be patient with the duo. Thus, keeping hold of Bolasie wouldn’t be a good choice by the club.
Bolasie featured in just 14 games in the Portuguese League this term and contributed with just 1 goal and 3 assists before returning to Goodison Park. The 30-year-old had crossed double figures for assists in just one season with Crystal Palace in 2014/15.
Keeping hold of Bolasie would make Everton just waste their resources as he would eventually end up on the bench. Given Richarlison’s good run of form and the presence of Alex Iwobi and Bernard, Bolasie would find it difficult to make it to the starting XI.

Verdict
Despite having enormous experience, the Congolese winger has failed to make a solid impression in recent years. He has not contributed enough in the last few seasons and would not be of any help to Everton. Thus, the Toffees parting ways with Bolasie would be a wise decision.
