According to Liverpool Echo, Real Valladolid are willing to sign Everton forward Sandro Ramirez on a permanent basis in the summer.
Ramirez, 24, came through the ranks of Barcelona’s youth system and made a breakthrough in the 2014/15 season. However, he struggled to find regular game time due to the presence of the big names and was traded to Malaga in the summer of 2016.
After a productive season with Malaga, Everton signed him in 2017 but the Spaniard has failed to deliver since then. He has been on the move on three different loan spells since his arrival in England and that has not helped him much. Thus, Everton should look to offload Ramirez permanently this summer.
The Toffees, meanwhile, have struggled with inconsistency throughout the campaign and are yet to reach their best. Their earlier performance saw Marco Silva get sacked but they did get back on track when Duncan Ferguson took charge as the interim head of the club.
Carlo Ancelotti was brought in to head them and they got off to a good start under the Italian tactician but lost their way eventually. Without a win in any of their last three league games, Everton have dropped to 12th position in the table.
Thus, the manager should bring in reinforcements to the squad if they are to progress further. One area where Ancelotti should focus on strengthening is the midfield. The midfield unit has failed miserably and has put the team in a difficult situation.
Apart from that, Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti should also look to sign defenders to improve the depth in their backline. They have only three central defenders, who have not been able to perform consistently and it clearly indicates that they need a massive change in the squad.
However, the frontline has done a decent job so far. Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been brilliant throughout the campaign. The duo has scored 23 of the Toffees’ 37 goals in the league and looks set to continue with their brilliance in the long run.
Apart from them, young Moise Kean and Cenk Tosun are also available in the centre-forward role. Though they have not been at their best, they are capable of playing a supporting role to the first-choice forwards.
Thus, selling Ramirez would be a wise decision by the English outfit. The Spaniard’s time at Goodison Park has not been a successful one. He has struggled to settle to the conditions of the Premier League and that is evident from the only goal he scored for the Toffees in 16 games.
The former Barcelona man scored 14 goals in the 2016/17 La Liga campaign but since then, he has managed just 5 goals in the past three years. His form has taken a massive hit and would be a waste of resources if the Toffees hold on to him.
Ramirez has not been at his best for the past few years and at the moment, Everton already have 4 strikers. Thus, they should look to part ways with the Spaniard permanently.
