Why Everton should sign Djibril Sidibe permanently after the loan spell
According to Liverpool Echo, French star Djibril Sidibe has said that he is happy at Everton amidst talks of his loan decision looming.
The report suggests that the Toffees have the option to buy Sidibe at the end of the season for £12.7m. The defender is currently on a season-long loan from French side AS Monaco.
Sidibe, 27, came through the ranks of ES Troyes’ youth system and joined Lille in the summer of 2012. Four years later, he switched to Monaco, making 114 appearances and winning the French league title in the 2016/17 campaign.
His form for the club earned him a spot in Didier Deschamps’ squad for the World Cup, which France eventually went on to win in 2018. Last summer, he moved to Goodison Park on loan and has been a consistent member under Carlo Ancelotti.
Meanwhile, the Toffees are currently 7th in the league table after a thumping 3-1 victory over Roy Hodgson’s men last weekend. And Sidibe has been of immense help to the team at both ends of the pitch. He has outperformed their captain and appears to have claimed the right-back spot for himself.
According to Whoscored, the Frenchman has registered an average of 3.6 tackles, 1.9 interceptions and 1.2 clearances per game in the league. His numbers are better than Seamus Coleman’s 1.4 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 1.1 clearances. Therefore, based on the stats, it is obvious that Sidibe has done better.
The World Cup winner has also contributed to the team with 4 assists, marking the second-highest in Everton’s charts. Hence, Ancelotti should make the decision of signing him permanently in the summer.

Verdict
Despite being in England for only 6 months, the former Lille man has been of immense help to the side.
Therefore, Everton must not delay in signing the 27-year-old permanently and keep him as long as possible.
