According to Eurosport, Everton want to add depth to their full-back area and Max Aarons has come across as a potential target. The club are keen on a long-term solution and the Norwich man could well be considered.
The 20-year-old English full-back started his youth career at Luton Town in 2009 before moving to Norwich’s youth setup in 2014.
After that, he climbed through the U-18s and U-23s before being promoted to the senior side in 2018. He was an integral part of Norwich’s promotion campaign that season and was a constant for them last season in the Premier League too.
In total, he has played for the Canaries 103 times, including 20 games this season. He has 4 goals and 11 assists to show for those appearances (source – Transfermarkt). Aarons has been a part of the England U-19 and U-21 sides but is yet to feature for the senior side.
For over a decade, Seamus Coleman has been manning the flanks at Goodison Park. Even at 32, he possesses the same passion he had back then. However, age is slowly catching up to the veteran and injuries are starting to surface. While Everton do have Jonjoe Kenny, he hasn’t been given much of a chance to stake his claim for the position.
What is special about Coleman is that he was one of the best attacking full-backs in his prime. Marauding up and down the right hand side, he has contributed to the team’s attack as much as defence.
In that sense, Aaron represents an option they can look to sign. The youngster had a fantastic breakthrough season for Norwich in the Premier League last term. Although the Canaries ended up getting relegated, Aarons did himself no harm with his performances.
The Norwich man would be the ideal option for Everton to have as a possible second choice and eventually take over from Coleman when the time comes. He would represent a smart bit of business from the club.
