According to Sky Sports, Tottenham star Harry Kane has refused to rule out a move away from the club in the future. He has insisted upon the need to win trophies in his career and could be on the move anytime.
Kane, 26, came through the ranks of Tottenham’s youth system and played for several clubs including Leyton Orient, Norwich and Leicester City earlier in his career to get regular game time and boost his confidence. Since his return to White Hart Lane in 2013, he has been on the rise in his career and has never failed to impress.
He finished as the Premier League’s top scorer for two seasons continuously between 2015 and 2017 and has been at the top of his game for a long time. He also ended as the highest scorer of the 2018 World Cup with 6 goals and followed it up by finishing the European Qualifiers with 12 goals.
The English talisman has helped Spurs finish in the top four on several occasions and also helped them to a Champions League final last season, which they eventually lost to Liverpool. And the knack of winning trophies has eluded the forward, who has given his best for both club and country throughout the last few years.
And as per his interview with pundit Jamie Redknapp, it would be the right decision to move away from North London and seek glory elsewhere, like Dimitar Berbatov and Gareth Bale, who also moved from Tottenham to other clubs and were very successful.
The Bulgarian was signed by Manchester United in 2008 and went on to become a key figure in the Red Devils’ attacking unit alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs. He won three Premier League titles, two English League Cups and three English Super Cups along with a Club World Cup.
In the same way, Bale, who just won the English League Cup with Tottenham, moved to Spain with Real Madrid and formed one of the deadliest trios in Europe alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. The Welshman has had a trophy-laden career and has become one of the biggest stars in the world of football.
Therefore, from these two examples, it is evident that Kane, who has been a leader for Spurs for the past few years can be successful elsewhere. And if he joins a bigger club, he can achieve glory rather than staying in North London.
The England international has featured in over 250 games for Tottenham and also has immense experience at the international level. Given his form and quality, Kane could certainly push his way into any big team’s starting XI.
Therefore, he should move on to a bigger club and achieve his dream of winning the biggest accolades in European football.
