Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger is the latest entrant into the WWE 2020 Hall of Fame

WWE named Japanese legend Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger as the latest entrant into the WWE 2020 Hall of Fame.

The Japanese legend is known for his excellent work with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) where he was on the roster from 1984 to 2020.

The 55-year-old recently retired from in-ring competition and is considered as one of the greatest ever.

Keiichi Yamada took on the Jushin Liger moniker thanks to a hit anime and added Thunder later on.

The Japanese star had wrestled in more than 4,000 matches around the world, and this certainly is a great move by WWE.

Not the most number of appearances in WWE

The WWE Hall of Fame has mostly been reserved for those who have been with the WWE for a while.

Some of the Hall of Fame members have been non-wrestling in nature, but the Hall of Fame hasn’t always felt inclusive to stars from other promotions.

Liger might not have been seen too many times in WWE but the Japanese is a legend and it is great seeing him in the Hall of Fame class of 2020.

The other inductees this year include nWo, Batista, John Bradshaw Layfield, Davey Boy Smith and the Bella Twins.

The WrestleMania weekend hosts the Hall of Fame show, and Liger’s inclusion could be the biggest name to have ever been brought in from outside the WWE ranks.

Of course, Liger made a couple of appearances in WWE but never made it on Raw or SmackDown.

That is part of his legacy and even though he appeared on other American promotions, he should be part of the Hall of Fame.

The 55-year-old might have retired from the world of Wrestling now. However, there aren’t many bigger names from outside the WWE who could have made it to the Hall of Fame.

Legends should form a part of this crowd and Liger fits that description perfectly.
