According to Liverpool Echo, former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has urged the club to sign Kingsley Coman. He was of the opinion that Coman would be a good replacement for Salah in case the latter departs the club.
Kingsley Coman rose through the youth ranks of Paris Saint-German, making his professional debut for his boyhood club during the 2012-13 season. He made only a handful of first-team appearances for the French giants before completing a move to Juventus in 2014.
The 24-year-old played a bit-part role at Juventus during the 2014-15 season. He signed for Bayern Munich on a two-season loan deal. Coman’s stay was made permanent in 2017. The Frenchman has gradually established himself as one of the key cogs in Bayern’s attack over the seasons.
Coman has accumulated an impressive tally of 38 goals and 44 assists in 176 appearances (source – Transfermarkt) for the Bavarian giants across all competitions. He has won 5 Bundesliga titles, 4 domestic cups and the Champions League.
He scored the all-important goal in the Champions League final to wrap up the treble last season. Coman was a regular for the France youth sides and also has 25 appearances for the senior side, with 5 goals to his name.
In a recent interview regarding his future, Mo Salah refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future (source – Mirror). There has been the belief that Salah has been underappreciated by the fans and he wouldn’t refuse a move to the Spanish giants if the opportunity presented itself.
So how to replace a prolific winger like Salah, who has perhaps taken Europe by storm ever since his move from Roma? By bringing in someone like Kingsley Coman. Coman is facing a lot more competition this season at Munich after the new arrivals of Leroy Sane and Douglas Costa. In the event that Salah does depart and Coman arrives, he would be an undisputed starter at the club.
Coman is one of the best young wingers in Europe and he comes with bags of experience playing for elite teams. He has won all there is and can match Liverpool’s lofty ambitions. The Frenchman can easily play on both flanks and could slot seamlessly into Jurgen Klopp’s all-star team.
