Why Manchester City simply shouldn’t lose Bernardo Silva to Barcelona
FC Barcelona are interested in signing Bernardo Silva from Manchester City as per Le10Sports (h/t Forbes) as they see the player as someone with proven quality.
The Portuguese international has been in terrific form over the last couple of seasons. This season, Silva has scored 8 and assisted 10 across all competitions.
Bernardo Silva arrived at the Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2017 and has since grown into a regular in the first-team. The Cityzens will be hoping that the £150,000-a-week star stays this summer and not move to Barcelona.
Why Manchester City shouldn’t let him go
Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola has deployed Bernardo Silva in the central midfield role and has also used him on the right wing. The Portuguese has exceeded all expectations, with his performances speaking volumes about his quality.
It is easy to see why Bernardo Silva should not be let go by Manchester City. The midfielder has all the good qualities for the top level and has so far performed very well. Finding a replacement for him would be very difficult.
Bernardo has been one of Man City’s standout performers this season. The former defending champions could not retain their crown but the 25-year-old has impressed everyone with his creativity in what has been another wonderful season for the midfield star.
While David Silva is in his last few days at the club, Bernardo can become a key player and has proven himself as a great asset to the team.
The Portuguese star has shown great sharpness on and off the ball and has a wonderful vision. The club can see the player as someone who, if he plays a key role in the years to come, will make an immense contribution to the team.
City have already reached great heights in the Premier League and their 100-point season record cannot be achieved by Liverpool this season following their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal. Bernardo Silva has certainly played his part in this run and has a lot more to offer to the club’s growth and development as they aim to win more trophies.
The Portuguese is an absolute live-wire in the midfield and city shouldn’t lose out such a talented player.
