Why Manchester United should attempt to sign Willian Jose on loan
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United have been offered striker Willian Jose on loan by Real Sociedad but talks with Tottenham are still continuing.
Talks between Tottenham and the La Liga side stalled earlier in the transfer window after Real Sociedad set a £25m price tag on Willian Jose. While talks are continuing with Spurs over a possible loan deal, Manchester United have also been offered the Brazilian’s services on a temporary basis, the report adds.
Manchester United completed a deal for Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon on Thursday — marking their first acquisition of the January transfer window. Injuries to key players such as Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay had left the Red Devils short in the midfield but the addition of Fernandes would certainly improve that area of the pitch.

Now, Sky Sports claim that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for a short-term option after Marcus Rashford’s injury. Rashford is the club’s top scorer with 19 goals across all competitions this campaign. However, the England international has been sidelined until April after sustaining a serious back injury against Wolves in the FA Cup.
In Rashford’s absence, the likes of Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood and Daniel James have looked ineffective, as witnessed in the last three games against Liverpool, Burnley and Manchester City. Martial has blown hot and cold this campaign, while Greenwood — enjoying his breakthrough campaign at Old Trafford — cannot be relied upon to lead the attack regularly.
Therefore, Solskjaer should bring in an experienced striker on loan. To that end, Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose fits the bill. Jose, 27, has scored 46 goals in 113 league appearances for the Spanish club. He has netted 8 goals in 20 games so far this season as Sociedad are placed sixth in the La Liga table.

Jose is an experienced striker and has proven himself in La Liga. He would add quality to the United squad, which has looked toothless without Rashford. In fact, the Red Devils have not scored a goal in back-to-back Premier League defeats to Liverpool and Burnley, which suggest that they lack a powerful presence up top.
Verdict
Thus, Jose would be a useful addition for United. He has a proven track record in La Liga and would be a reliable attacking partner for Martial. Thus, Solskjaer should do everything possible to beat Spurs and bag the Sociedad star on loan.
