Why Manchester United should keep their eyes off Pervis Estupinan
As per Ecuadorian outlet Expreso (h/t The Sun), Manchester United are interested in Watford left-back Pervis Estupinan, who currently plies his trade with CD Osasuna on loan in Spain.
Estupinan, 22, joined the Hornets in the summer of 2017 and since then, he has been on different loan spells before joining Osasuna. He has been a regular member of the squad and has helped the side steer clear of the relegation zone in La Liga.
The youngster’s impressive performances in the last two seasons have caught the attention of several other clubs, including Atletico Madrid and some Serie A sides, as per the report.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done a fantastic job in the last few months, helping his side overcome the issues they faced at the beginning of the campaign. The Red Devils have gone unbeaten in their last 11 games across all competitions and have conceded only twice in that period.
The defensive unit has come alive in the latter stages of the season with Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof taking charge in the heart of the defence. Summer signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been brilliant at right-back and already seems to be a good investment.
United are currently well-stocked at left-back, with Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams taking charge after the departure of Ashley Young. Shaw, who had been troubled with injuries for the majority of the campaign, has been brilliant in the past few months and has also adapted to a three-man defence.
In the meantime, youngster Williams has emerged from the academy ranks and has played his part in the best way, while Shaw was injured and out of action. Thus, the manager should look away from the decision of making a move for Watford’s Pervis Estupinan.
Estupinan has just started his career and an immediate move to Old Trafford would be a huge task for the youngster. With United having two good players in that position, it would be difficult for him to make his way into Solskjaer’s line-up.
The Ecuadorian international needs to be playing a lot of games during this phase of his career and with United, he would find it impossible.

Verdict
Solskjaer has brought the best out of Shaw and Williams this term and brining in a new left-back would put the manager in a dilemma. Thus, United should keep their eyes off Estupinan and instead, they should look to strengthen other areas on the pitch.
