Why Manchester United should return for Kingsley Coman in the future

According to Sky Sports, Bayern Munich have ruled out the sale of Manchester United target Kingsley Coman. It was earlier reported that Coman was one of the alternative players Manchester United were looking to sign at the time, instead of Jadon Sancho. However, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has come out and said that Coman is not for sale.

Kingsley Coman rose through the youth ranks of Paris Saint-German, making his professional debut for his boyhood club during the 2012-13 season. He made only a handful of first-team appearances for the French giants before completing a move to Juventus in 2014.

The 24-year-old played a bit-part role at Juventus during the 2014-15 season. He signed for Bayern Munich on a two-season loan deal. Coman’s stay was made permanent in 2017. The Frenchman has gradually established himself as one of the key cogs in Bayern’s attack over the seasons.

He scored the all-important goal in the Champions League final to wrap up the treble last season. Coman was a regular for the France youth sides and also has 25 appearances for the senior side, with 5 goals to his name.

Amongst their new recruits, Alex Telles, Van de Beek and Cavani have shown the occasional promise. However, the fact remains that the club are sorely lacking another forward.

Kingsley Coman is facing a lot more competition this season at Munich after the new arrivals of Leroy Sane and Douglas Costa. At United, he could well be an undisputed starter. The Red Devils have a decent starting XI but every time there is an injury, the club goes into panic mode and tries to sign someone. Case in point being Odion Ighalo in January.
