Why Moussa Dembele would be a fantastic addition for West Ham given Haller’s exit
According to RMC Sport (h/t Express), West Ham have zeroed in on Moussa Dembele to replace the outgoing Sebastien Haller. The club are in the hunt for a new forward as Haller has joined Ajax. The former Celtic man is among the various names being considered as a replacement.
West Ham need another striker now
While Haller was never West Ham’s go-to option as a centre-forward, his departure to Ajax does leave the side short in that department. Michail Antonio remains their only recognised striker in the side.
Sebastian Haller could never convince David Moyes that he could be a reliable option up top for the Hammers. With that scenario, Moyes has had to rely on Michail Antonio for the bulk of their goals. Having just one striker in a team that is regularly involved in relegation dog fights isn’t exactly a great situation to be in.
Demebele can be a prolific option for West Ham
Signing a player like Dembele could help the issue. The forward is one of Europe’s most prolific strikers currently and has also been made available by Lyon. It is a great opportunity to sign him. West Ham could really use a player like Dembele who has been scoring at a tremendous rate since his move to Celtic.
At the start of the 2018-19 season, he made the move to France with Lyon and kept up his good form in front of goal. So far, he has made over 100 appearances while scoring 45 goals and assisting another 13 (source – Transfermarkt). Dembele is also great at bringing other players into play, which should add to the appeal for Moyes.

Not only would he be a good replacement for Haller, but he can also add to the competition for Antonio, who has often been the undisputed starter at the club. There are no doubts about his goal-scoring prowess and he looks like a really good bit of investment.
