Wagner Ribeiro, the former agent of Paris Saint-Germain star has revealed that Real Madrid are still eyeing a dream move for the Brazilian, as per The Mirror.
Neymar, 28, came through the youth ranks of Santos FC in Brazil and went on to form one of the most lethal partnerships alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi at Barcelona. After making 186 appearances for the Catalans and winning several trophies, French giants PSG signed him in the summer of 2017.
Though he faced several issues in his first couple of seasons in France, the Brazilian has bounced back with some significant performances this term. His return from injury has been a huge boost to his side and is still one of the best players in the world.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos have been brilliant throughout the campaign except on a few occasions. They have scored 49 goals and conceded just 19, and are currently 2 points behind league leaders Barcelona.
Madrid have a plethora of attacking talents in Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio and several other youngsters. Benzema is their top scorer with 14 goals in the league so far. As they have enough attackers in their unit, signing Neymar would make no sense for the club.
Hazard was bought last summer to cover the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo but the former Chelsea man has struggled with injuries. Spanish ace Isco was used in his place and the former Malaga man has been brilliant so far.
Apart from them, Vinicius Junior and Asensio are also both left-wingers, who have proved to be worthy for the team. However, the former was absent for the majority of the campaign. Young Brazilian Rodrygo Goes is also capable of operating on both flanks.
In that regard, signing Neymar would be an absolute waste of resources.
Signing the former Barcelona man would also cause a dilemma for the manager. Though Neymar has been in top form this season, he would surely have to fight for his place.
The Brazilian is also known for his history of injuries. He has missed a majority of the games in the last three years with PSG and if that continues, Madrid would be wasting a huge amount for someone who is often left out of games. Thus, Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane should look away from Neymar this summer.
Los Blancos have quality options up front for both the present and the future, and some of the youngsters have been shining this season. Thus, signing Neymar should not be an option for the La Liga giants. Instead, they should look to strengthen other key areas.
