According to The Pink Un, Norwich City are interested in Luxembourg forward Danel Sinani, who currently plies his trade with F19 Dudelange.
Danel Sinani, 22, came through the youth ranks of FC Differdingen in his homeland before moving to Racing FC Union Luxembourg in 2011. After three seasons and 72 appearances for the club, he moved to Dudelange.
He has been a regular member of the squad in the past three seasons and has made 96 appearances for Dudelange. In the process, he has racked up an impressive 46 goals and 28 assists. He is one of the most promising youngsters in the country.
Meanwhile, the Canaries have suffered a terrible fate in the top-flight this term as they are battling to move out of the relegation zone. They are currently at the bottom of the league table with just 5 wins in 28 games. And they would have to face relegation if they continue in the same way.
One of the chief reasons for their humiliating campaign is the lack of goals. Daniel Farke’s men have scored just 25 goals so far in the league, which is too low for Premier League standards.
Star forward Teemu Pukki is their top scorer with 11 goals but hasn’t scored in the last few games. And midfielder Todd Cantwell is behind him with 6 goals. Apart from them, no one has contributed much to the team. Swiss international Josip Drmic was brought in last summer to bolster their attack but he hasn’t lived up to the expectations.
Other forwards in the ranks like Onel Hernandez and Emiliano Buendia have a total of only 2 goals between them. Though the latter has 7 assists to his name, he hasn’t been able to lift the team in difficult situations. Therefore, Farke must look to strengthen his squad with new faces and Danel Sinani would be a perfect choice.
The 22-year-old has been in red-hot form this season for his club, banging in 24 goals in 27 games across all competitions. He was also excellent in the Europa League, where he scored 4 goals in 5 games.
The Luxembourg international has already surpassed his goal tally from each of the last two seasons and it is evident that he has been improving. A left-winger by trade, Sinani is capable of playing on the opposite flank and as a central attacking midfielder as well.
Sinani could bolster Norwich’s attack if he replicates the form he has shown this season and would provide the Canaries with the much-needed extra goals.
Given Norwich’s lack of depth and quality in their attacking ranks, the manager should address the situation by bringing in young and powerful forwards. And Sinani perfectly fits the equation.
Therefore, Norwich should make a swift move for the 22-year-old forward regardless of where they play next season.
