Lewis Hamilton has achieved everything the sport of Formula One has to offer and more. The seven time world champion is arguably the greatest racer the world has ever seen. Having the most points, most poles, most wins and probably the most of everything in sport. His immense success has garnered him a lot of fans around the world.

However, Hamilton also has a lot of haters and people who dislike him making Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous quote of “Maybe they hate me because I’m too good” come to life. In this article, we will take a look at a few reasons why Hamilton is disliked more when compared to the other racers.

Hamilton is different from other Formula One racers

One of the reasons for being disliked by people is the fact that Hamilton is notably different from other racers. Ever since entering the sport in 2007, the Brit racer has broken the mold of how F1 racers were seen in the past. Hamilton has achieved mega-stardom. And unlike most of the F1 racers in the past and even most of them now.

Hamilton’s lifestyle is that of a megastar and even though he is utterly grateful for everything he has, people tend to not like that. Even Fernando Alonso, his former teammate recently admitted that Hamilton’s lifestyle separates him from other drivers.

While talking about his relationship with Hamilton, Alonso said (h/t: Planet F1):

“Now we have this respectful relationship, but maybe it is colder than it used to be. We have different opinions on different things. He has a different lifestyle to many of us and that separates us.”

Lewis Hamilton has beaten every driver he has faced

Since making his debut more than a decade ago Hamilton has beaten every racer that has been on the same grid with him, winning 7 world championships and 103 races in the process. Being this successful comes with it’s own cost and with Hamilton we can see that statement being true.

Beating the likes of Felipe Massa and Sebastian Vettel in intense F1 driver’s championships in the past and establishing his dominance in the sport of Formula One has made him one of the most disliked racers.

It is safe to say that people are annoyed by Hamilton beating their favorite racers. Being able to sustain his dominance for so long in Formula One has just helped the fans with reasons to hate the seven-time world champion.
