Bianca Belair recently hinted she could be open to teaming up with Roman Reigns but WWE don’t need to mix these things up
Roman Reigns was right in his suggestion that he had been carrying WWE for quite a while now. The Tribal Chief has been excellent since his return from a break and his heel turn has become one of the biggest talking points in wrestling.
Reigns keeps on hitting the home runs with his performances and that could be down to Paul Heyman too. The Big Dog winning the title after his return was great but how he manipulated Jey Uso to join him, after a thrashing or two, has been fantastic too.
Then come his microphone skills, which have also improved a lot, and Reigns does seem to be the package that WWE needed for a while.
Fans are also tuning into SmackDown to catch a glimpse of this man as the Blue Brand keeps winning the title for best watched wrestling show.
However, WWE has been teasing that this family of Reigns, which features Heyman and Uso, could grow.
Apollo Crews was seen taking some tips from Reigns and Heyman before battling Big E. Bianca Belair, the winner of the 2021 Royal Rumble, also hinted that she was open to joining them.
While this would make the faction stronger and give then a bigger presence, WWE has to steer clear of any such plans.
One reason why this storyline with Reigns has worked so well is because he has brought family and his bloodline into all this.
Reigns comes from the highly respected Anoa’i family of wrestling which has several legends, like The Rock, gracing the business.
Expanding this to outsiders, such as Crews or Belair, would just dilute the effect of this angle. Further, Reigns has constantly brought up family during his initial feud with the Usos and it wouldn’t make sense expanding the gang unless it is family members.
Secondly, Belair is one of the baby faces in WWE at the moment. She has a ton of momentum behind her and she hasn’t decided who she faces at WrestleMania yet.
Belair joining the Family, just to name the faction, would see her turn heel too. This would be a step in the wrong direction given how much of a face she is and also take things into another direction.
Belair’s story should focus on her trying to win the title at WrestleMania, that’s it. She doesn’t need other distractions now and it is tough to say if the fans would get behind this now.
Of course, Belair can turn heel after Mania and join Reigns but again, she isn’t family and doesn’t need to be shoehorned into this story.
Reigns and Heyman have done a fantastic job on SmackDown with this angle, and WWE does not need to add more flavour into a tasty meal.
