Roman Reigns made a shocking WWE return at SummerSlam and attacked The Fiend and Braun Strowman
The WWE Universe was in shock as Roman Reigns made his return at SummerSlam 2020.
The former champion had been out of action since WrestleMania as he decided not to perform during the coronavirus pandemic.
However, his return will have changed the landscape of SmackDown. Reigns waited for the right moment to attack. He came out and speared The Fiend after the WWE Universal title match.
The Fiend had defeated Braun Strowman and Reigns took both of them out. The Big Dog also lifted the title high as he seems ready to challenge for the crown.
Reigns should be in the title scene from the start
While Reigns wants to win the crown right away, that might not happen. Strowman was the champion coming into all this and he should get a rematch against The Fiend after losing the belt.
The Monster had been on a tear since the Swamp Fight and had become his basic self. However, that was not enough to get one over The Fiend.
Bray Wyatt seems to be a thing of the past at the moment after getting slammed by Strowman on SmackDown, and The Fiend might have taken over from him.
The Fiend vs Strowman is the logical clash next but Reigns’ return has certainly put a spanner in the works.
However, Reigns should be in the title scene right after making his return. Reigns was to win the title from Goldberg before he backed out for health reasons.
He cannot be blamed for taking such a decision since his battle with Leukaemia and he deserves a shot at the gold straight away.
Reigns is also the man that SmackDown and WWE need badly. WWE need to have bigger faces to push for their men’s division.
Strowman as the champion was fine but he hasn’t progressed as well as he should have. The Fiend being the champion could be great but he feels too one-dimensional at times.
Reigns returning changes all that and he should be pushed in a big way. WWE could put him in a triple threat match for the title with The Fiend and Strowman the other participants.
Reigns seems to be in the best shape of his career and his return could be the kick-start that SmackDown needed.
Of course, that would be even great if he went on to win the title soon. The Big Dog is back and this is his yard, now he just has to go all out and reclaim the gold.
