Why Thanawat Suengchitthawon would be a good future investment for Leicester City

According to Daily Mail, Leicester City are in talks to sign AS Nancy youngster Thanawat Suengchitthawon in the summer.

Suengchitthawon, 20, is a product of Nancy’s youth system and was promoted to the club’s B side in January 2018. He has been impressive for the youth sides so far. But he is yet make his senior debut. However, the report suggests that his contract comes to an end in the summer and has been linked with a move to Leicester City.

Suengchitthawon has represented France at the U16 and U17 levels and is known for being two-footed. He is one of the best young talents in the country. And thus, the Foxes should attempt to secure his services on a free transfer at the earliest.

The Foxes, meanwhile, have endured a brilliant campaign so far. In his first full season in charge, Brendan Rodgers has done a stellar job. After winning the Premier League title in the 2015/16 season, Leicester failed in their development but the Irish manager has taken to the next level this season.

However, with Champions League football looking a strong possibility, the manager should look to add depth to the squad and increase their options in the middle of the park. And investing in youth would be a wise decision, especially in these times of financial crisis due to the pandemic.

Leicester have a plethora of midfield talents in their ranks in James Maddison, Youri Tielemans, Harvey Barnes, Marc Albrighton, Matty James, Dennis Praet and Harvey Barnes. They have done a fine job so far. But the manager could do with another youngster in their ranks for the future.

Albrighton is already 30 and reaching the rear end of his career. Maddison has also been linked with a move away from the club in recent times. Thus, Rodgers should look to bring in reinforcements in midfield if they are to lose any of their star players.
