Why The Revival are perfect candidates to join AEW after their WWE release

The Revival are the latest stars that WWE have decided to release but their future seems set

WWE decided to release a couple of stagnating stars in Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, better known as The Revival.

This didn’t come as a major shock as both stars had hinted that they wanted to leave the company in the past. Unfortunately for them, things had become really slow for the pair despite being excellent workers in the ring.

Wilder and Dawson are the only tag team in the history of WWE to win all three major tag titles. They won the NXT and Raw Tag Team titles twice while they lifted the SmackDown titles just once.

They started their NXT journey with the name of The Mechanics, but the Revival were a throwback to what actual tag team wrestling was all about.

Their last major appearance on WWE came as they lost to the Miz and John Morrison in a Fatal 4-Way match.

They were released by WWE on 10 April but the pair are already working on their next gig.

A new beginning for Dawson and Wilder

The former WWE employees have worked quickly to register their new names. Wilder will be known as Cash Wheeler while Dawson is Dax Harwood.

Normally, stars take their time to think about what is the next step, but it seems the pair are primed for making their AEW debut.

Luke Harper waited for a few months before taking up the Brodie Lee name and joining the Dark Order.

AEW finally got its Exalted One, and the former Wyatt Family member is a perfect fit for the faction.

Similarly, Wheeler and Harwood seem to be a perfect fit for AEW’s tag team division. They will now be called as FTR and have also trademarked several names which are to be used in their next promotion.

AEW does have a few decent tag teams but there is no one who has the experience and championship pedigree that the former WWE stars do.

Brodie Lee made his AEW debut by destroying Christopher Daniels (AEW)

It is a little strange that the current AEW tag champs are Adam Page and Kenny Omega. Omega is known to be a singles competitor, and it would be great if FTR join the division soon and start taking down talent.

Not the typical tag team

Wilder and Dawson were known for their hard-hitting style and not being similar to anything we had seen in years.

Thye were a stripped-down team that knew how to get the job done. No gimmicks, no fancy stuff, just pure wrestling, and that won’t be a bad thing on AEW.

It might seem like AEW is picking up the scraps that WWE don’t want, but this potential signing would be AEW’s gain more than WWE’s loss.
