Why Stanley N’Soki would be a good signing for Newcastle United

According to a report from Chronicle Live, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is working tirelessly to bring two more defenders before the transfer deadline. The Spaniard has identified Paris Saint-Germain’s Stanley N’Soki as the club’s top target.

The player could cost in the region of £9million and discussions between the two clubs are ongoing. Chronicle Live also states that the 19-year-old is keen on a move towards the north east of England. He has declined professional contracts at PSG in order to play regular football elsewhere (h/t Chronicle Live).

Here’s why N’Soki will be a vital addition to this Newcastle squad and why Benitez could grab a coup buying the player this summer.

Player Analysis – Stanley N’Soki

Age – 19

Main Positions – Left-Back or Left-wing

N’Soki is a pacy left-sided player who is adept at making forward runs and influencing attacks from wide areas of the pitch. His acceleration with the ball and ability to dribble past opponents is quite attractive for viewers. The Nigerian is a raw talent at this current point in time and relies on direct running with the ball, which will suit the way Newcastle play – particularly on the counter-attack.

The 19-year-old’s ability to shoot from a distance and crossing propensity is high on quality, making him a great prospect for the Magpies. Tracking back and defending opposition players is where the teenager lacks but he still has plenty of time to learn and become one of the best wide players in the world.

Hence, it is right for him to reject contracts at PSG as it shows his hunger and desire to play games and learn, rather than being on the fringes in Paris. Moreover, Rafa Benitez is known to extract the best out of players and instil them into his own structural footballing system.

Verdict

N’Soki could prove to be an exciting new addition and help the team by providing inspirational moments on the pitch. Of course, he has to learn a few things before reaching the best of his abilities. However, he can certainly achieve all that and more under a fantastic man-manager like Benitez.
