Brian Kendrick is all over social media due to his controversial comments. But Why was he given the nickname ‘Spanky?’
Former WWE Superstar Brian Kendrick was scrapped from AEW Dynamite today due to the circulation of his controversial comments based on 9/11 and the Holocaust etc., a decade ago.
However, Brian was given a bizarre nickname, ‘Spanky‘ when he started his professional career. In 1999 he moved to Texas, began his training at NWA Southwest Wrestlingschool and later attended the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy.
It was there that Kendrick adopted the ring name Spanky. Due to his method of staying awake during long drives on the Indy circuit the nickname was given.
In a match with American Dragon, he made his professional wrestling debut on October 4, 1999, which ended in a 10-minute time limit.
Brian Kendrick apologises following the controversy
Kendrick has discussed several conspiracy theories involving the Illuminati, Jews and Zionists. He has also previously made comments regarding conspiracies surrounding 9/11, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, and controversial views on the Holocaust.
Brian took to Twitter, apologised to all the fans for these words and comments, and mentioned that “he crossed the line.”
“I apologize for all the hurt and embarrassment I have caused with my words. These are not my beliefs and never were beliefs of mine, and I crossed the line.“
It was reported earlier that in late January, Kendrick requested his release from WWE officials, and he has not been in any of the WWE TV tapings for his NXT/205 live producer/coach etc.
He got his release a few days back and was about to face recently returned Jon Moxley at AEW Dynamite.
