Former WWE Superstar Tammy Stych arrested for threatening to kill partner
Tammy Sytch, a superstar of WWE from the 1990s era, is facing allegations of threatening to kill her partner with a pair of scissors.
Police officials in New Jersey arrested Sytch on Thursday. They allege that she raised a pair of scissors in the air in a domestic dispute with her intimate partner and threatened to kill him with them.
According to TMZ, the victim was not injured in the altercation. However, it is still unclear how the dispute began in the first place. It is believed by police that she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident. Sytch has previously been arrested for drunk driving at least six times.
Sytch already faced three charges earlier, including terroristic threats and possessing a weapon for an unlawful purpose. In addition, she had her share of legal problems, including the 2018 arrest for contempt of court and fugitive charges.
Her most recent incident came in July 2020 for allegedly eluding a police officer, violating a domestic restraining order and operating a motor vehicle under a license suspension. She was released from jail in June 2021
Between 1995-98 Sytch was a very big WWE Superstar and was named the most downloaded person on the internet by AOL in 1996. She also later appeared in ECW and WCW. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Famer in 2011.
There were certain rumours that she was attempting to sell her Hall of Fame ring, but later she denied that rumour during an interview.
She was quoted saying the following things (h/t comic book)
“Everything in this business and revolving around this business is a work,” Sytch said. “The whole ring thing, it was a publicity stunt thought of by me and Steven Hirsch from Vivid [Entertainment Group] just to get publicity for selling the movie. That was it. That was all it was. It was a publicity stunt we got TMZ to do because that’s the best way to get anything out there to the media, and that’s all it was. My ring is locked up in a safe in the next room right now. I don’t need to sell my ring to pay anything. That’s not how it works.”
