Wild Hearts Guide – 10 Tips and Tricks

Published by

The Wild Hearts Guide has some of the best tips and tricks that will help you to improve in the game. Read all the tips and tricks till the end.

In the game, players take on the role of a nameless hunter. They get the task of tracking down and defeating massive monsters called Kemono in the world of Azuma. Azuma is not an open world but is instead comprised of several large areas that players can explore freely. Players have a choice of eight different weapon types, including wagasa and katana. Each weapon has its own set of combos to master, ranging from simple to more complex ones.

In addition to using weapons, players can also build items to assist in combat through the Karakuri mechanic. For example, players can build crates to jump off of and perform powerful attacks, or torches to ignite enemies. These items can be combined to create larger machines. Machines are like a bulwark that blocks an enemy’s path, making it easier to take down. If you are new to the game then do not worry, the Wild Hearts Guide will help you out.

Wild Hearts Guide: Kemono

In Wild Hearts, tracking down Kemono is a crucial task. You can do it with the help of the Karakuri. It transforms into all sorts of useful structures. One such Karakuri that proves to be a game-changer is the Hunting Tower.

To get started, you’ll need to place a Hunting Tower in an area where a Dragon Pit is operational. It’s best to deploy multiple Towers in a single region to ensure you don’t miss any Kemono. Take a quick peek at the map to identify the Hunting Tower’s range. Then try to cover the entire region with as few Towers as possible.

When you’re in the range of one Tower, activating it triggers all the others in the same region. This not only makes tracking down Kemono a breeze but also gives you a handy X-ray vision of all the bosses in the area. Don’t let Kemono slip through your fingers. Cover the regions with Hunting Towers and stay one step ahead in the game.

Fast Travel

If you’re a fan of Wild Hearts, you’ll be pleased to know that the Dragon Karakuri offers a super-convenient way to move around the game world: Hunter’s Tents. These fantastic contraptions act as fast-travel points, allowing you to zip across the map in a jiffy.

Hunter’s Tents require Earth elemental energy to function, which you can only get by activating Dragon Pits. This means you can only have a limited number of Tents built at a time. However, the good news is that you can erect them anywhere you please, not just next to a Dragon Pit.

So, don’t be afraid to set up your Tents in strategic locations that make sense to you. And if you find that a Tent isn’t serving its purpose or you simply don’t need it anymore, you can just knock it down.

Wild Hearts Guide: Dragon Pits

If you’re looking for a place to rest and recharge during your Wild Hearts adventure, look no further than the Dragon Pits scattered throughout the game. These underground springs offer an array of benefits, from serving as potential camp locations to providing resources to help you upgrade your Dragon Karakuri.

However, it’s not as simple as just stumbling upon a Dragon Pit and settling down. When you discover a Pit, you’ll need to unblock it using local resources. After that, you can upgrade it further with increasingly rare items such as Large Mist Crystals and Giant Spring Dust Crystals.

Each Dragon Pit has a unique set of stats that determine what can be built there. These stats match up with the associated type of Dragon Karakuri that can be constructed in the area. For instance, a Pit with low wood, water, and earth stats but high fire and wind stats will support the construction of Dragon Karakuri that matches those elemental types.

Building Basic Karakuri in Different Situations

Building Basic Karakuri can be a valuable tool in the fight against Giant Kemono. However, depending on the situation, the position where the Karakuri is built can be crucial. Here are the two scenarios that determine the placement of Basic Karakuri:

Building While Running or Using a Weapon:

When you’re running or have your weapon drawn, Basic Karakuri will be built in front of your character. This can be helpful when trying to quickly create a Karakuri while on the move or in the middle of a fight.

Building While Standing Still and Weapon Put Away:

On the other hand, when you’re standing still and have your weapon put away, your character will snap toward the target to build the Karakuri, or in the direction, the camera is facing if there is no target. This precision can be useful when trying to build a Karakuri in a specific location or to avoid accidentally building it in a dangerous spot.

Quests

In Wild Hearts, you embark on quests directly from the main map or by interacting with a Campfire. Simply select the quest you want to take on and click on it.

That being said, don’t overlook the importance of talking to characters once you reach the town of Minato. While you won’t receive quests directly from them, they will give you valuable information and tips that can help you along the way. Additionally, some characters will offer side-quests that will appear as new icons on the main map once you speak to them.

Finding Materials and Monster Drops

In Wild Hearts, finding the right materials can make all the difference when it comes to crafting and upgrading your gear. There are a few ways to locate the items you need.

One option is to use the sidebar guide, which can help you quickly locate the materials you’re after. Alternatively, you can use the in-game Cyclopedia, which provides a wealth of information about the monsters you encounter in the game.

To access Cyclopedia, open the game menu and go to the right-hand tab. Within this menu, you’ll find options to view both Small Kemono and Giant Kemono. By examining the drops associated with each monster, you can determine the best way to obtain the materials you require. And, in some cases, you might find that petting a Small Kemono is a more effective way to get what you’re looking for than battling it.

Awaken New Karakuri with Karakuri Fusion

As you progress through certain hunts in the main storyline, you’ll have moments of inspiration that awaken the new Karakuri, often in the form of Karakuri Fusion. By stacking two towers or springs together, you can create new Karakuri like the Bullwark or Pounder that deal significant damage to Kemonos. Using these Karakuri can help you defeat Kemonos more efficiently than just relying on your weapons alone.

Wild Hearts Guide: Robot Companions

As you explore each map in Wild Hearts, keep an eye out for small, round robot companions. These little guys can be incredibly helpful in combat, and the more you find, the more you can upgrade them to make them even more effective.

Don’t forget to visit the Campfire to upgrade your robot companions, as doing so will allow you to carry more Thread. This, in turn, will increase the number of Basic Karakuri you can build before you have to collect more. So be sure to take advantage of these robot companions to enhance your combat skills and make building Karakuri easier!

Mastering Combos

In Wild Hearts, each weapon has a set of combos that are associated with it. While some of these combos are easy to execute, such as a series of light attacks, others can take some practice to master. To hone your skills with each weapon, head to the bear mannequin located just north of the first camp in the first area, Harugasumi Way.

This is where you can train with each weapon and become more proficient in executing its unique set of combos. As you progress in the game and upgrade your Karakuri, you can even build your own Training Bear Dragon Karakuri at any Dragon Pit for 10 fire to further refine your combat skills.

Exploring for Talismans

As you explore the world of Wild Hearts, keep an eye out for Talismans, which can be found in various locations. You can also receive them as rewards after successfully hunting a Giant Kemono. Talismans are additional pieces of equipment that grant unique skills to your character, allowing you to customize your playstyle even further.

Once you have acquired a Talisman, you can equip it at any Forge. It’s important to note that you can equip multiple Talismans at once, so don’t hesitate to mix and match to find the combination that works best for you.
